About Us

God placed it in the heart of Archbishop Roy E. Brown to establish churches around the world. It was with this vision that Pilgrim Church of Atlanta (PCHA) opened its doors on October 10, 1993 and Bishop Kent Branch (then Pastor) was installed.

PCHA began with only three members, The Branch family‚ Kent, Diana and their daughter. The small group of dedicated worshippers was committed to God’s plan to shake up Atlanta and introduce people to the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Believing God, the parishioners spread the Gospel and God’s powerful presence became evident to all of those who opened their hearts. Lives were transformed at Pilgrim Church of Atlanta, all by the mighty move of God. It was with these undeniable experiences that PCHA became known as “The Church with a Mighty Move of God.”

Three years later, Atlanta’s renowned Gospel Choice Awards saluted the great works being done at this house of God when it honored Bishop Branch with the Chosen Award, one of the region’s highest pastoral honors which highlights those who have made a mark in their church community. The miraculous growth in membership compelled PCHA to seek facilities that would better serve Bishop Branch’s God-Given vision. In 1998, God took Pilgrim from Vision to Victory when the Pilgrim Cathedral Campus was acquired. The campus consists of over seven acres in the Decatur, Georgia community and includes: the Sanctuary and Administrative Office Building, the Archbishop Roy E. Brown Life Center & Pilgrim Christian Academy, Simeon & Anna Senior Citizen House, The Timothy House and the Pilgrim Empowerment Plaza.

The spiritual needs of the community are an essential part of our ministry; however, we also find it paramount to meet the needs of the family. In an effort to provide resources that appeal to all members of the family, Pilgrim Cathedral offers a multi-faceted array of in-reach and outreach ministries.
